Class 3 - Y5, Y6
Welcome to class 3 - home to years 5 and 6. In class 3, We begin to use our experiences to broaden our knowledge and explore new ideas. With secondary education in mind, we also work on building confidence and self-esteem, ready for the challenges a new school can bring.
Our geography topic this term is: Rivers and Water. We will be studying the course of a river, the advantages and disadvantages of living close to one. In history we will be looking at the change in entertainment over the 20th century.
Our science topic is: 'Living things and their habitats'. We will be looking at ways that plants and animals are classified, how microorganisms grow and what plants and animals feature in the school's natural habitat.
We are studying Twist of Gold by Michael Morpurgo and Survivors by David Long. Through these texts, Class 3 will be writing: setting descriptions, diary entries, letters, a chapter for a story, a newspaper report and an information pamphlet, as well as various style poems.

Homework Homework is set on a Wednesday and due on a Monday:
